Corporal David Reynolds served in the Pacific theater in 1944 and passed away long before his grandson Mark was born. All Mark had ever seen was a tiny, battered 2x3 photo showing a serious young man in military uniform.

Decades of wallet wear had rubbed away the edges and created a network of fine cracks across David's cap and eyes.
